Andrew Walker

Instructor

Andrew Walker qualified as a Driving Instructor in 1984 and in the years since has gained a wealth of experience teaching a wide range of people to drive. He is well regarded in the local community and there are a number of families where he has helped 3 generations pass their driving tests. Andrew covers Cirencester, Stroud, Cheltenham & Swindon.

Dave Mellor

Instructor

Dave Mellor has been working with Andrew Walker at Shire School of Motoring since 2002 and is now regularly teaching the children of the pupils that he taught many years ago. Dave also is highly involved with the Cirencester group of Advanced Motorists since 2001 and, as such, continues to teach safe driving for life. Dave covers Cirencester, Fairford, Lechlade, Cricklade, Kemble and all the surrounding villages for driving lessons. Dave takes pupils to Swindon, Cheltenham and Chippenham for driving lessons and tests. 
Dave is also a Canoe leader, Level 2 kayak, and SUP and Canoe coach. Dave leads river trips around the Southwest and Scotland. 

Wendy Kingham

Instructor

Wendy has been a driving instructor since 2002 and joined the Shire team in 2018 covering Minchinhampton, Stroud and Cirencester areas. 
Since Wendy qualified as an instructor, she has taught many people and is now teaching the children of some of those previous students. 
As an instructor, she strongly believes in teaching people safe skills for life not just to pass a test so you can be safe in the knowledge that with Wendy and all the Shire team you will have skills that will carry you through your whole driving career.
Wendy has two sons whom she also taught to drive and loves spending time with them and her young grandson. She also enjoys her downtime with her husband and going away in her Campervan.

Reece Kingham

Instructor

Reece has always had a passion for cars and driving. He used to work in engineering training operators on various products.

In 2023 he decided to retrain as a driving instructor so that he could carry on training but focus more on something he is passionate about.

His hobbies include classic cars, steam engines, vintage tractors and spending time with his family. 
Reece covers Dursley, Stroud, Cirencester and surrounding areas for manual lessons.

Matt Brough

Instructor

Matt Brough joined Shire School of Motoring in 2018. He has a range of driver training experience and supporting all levels, from learner drivers to trainee driving instructors. He has over twenty years of experience in teaching, mentoring and coaching. Matt covers Cirencester and the surrounding areas.

In his spare time, Matt enjoys restoring and driving vintage and veteran cars.

Mike Miller

Instructor

Mike joined the team in December 2022. During his 30-year career in the manufacturing and aerospace industries, Mike has provided training for new computer systems and coaching support for planning professionals. COVID provided an opportunity for a change in career with Mike qualifying as a driving instructor in 2020 and starting to train new drivers as the UK opened up again at the beginning of 2021. After relocating to Cirencester in 2022, Mike was looking to join a local group of like-minded driving instructors to provide an excellent new driver training experience in Cirencester and the surrounding area. Without the L plates, live music and motorsport are a couple of things Mike enjoys during his free time.

Richard Scott

Instructor

Richard has been involved in the training and coaching of people for a long time working first as a sports coach at an independent school, then for many years as a manager and coach in the finance sector. 

He changed his career and trained to become an ADI during the COVID lockdowns and has worked with Shire since 2022.

He has lived in the Minchinhampton area for the last 18 years and for Shire covers the Stroud, Tetbury and Cirencester areas training drivers to become safe and independent.

Richard’s lifelong passion is cricket, and he has captained, and played for Minchinhampton CC, and also coached their juniors.

Gordon Kingham

Instructor

Gordon has spent most of his life restoring classic cars during which time he has spent many years training and coaching apprentices.

He enjoyed the training side so much that he decided to retrain as a driving instructor in 2023 to combine his passions of teaching, driving and cars.

Gordon's hobbies include tinkering with his classic car and spending time with his family and Grandson.

Gordon covers Stroud, Minchinhampton, Tetbury and surrounding areas for manual lessons.
